It appears not everyone wants to hear the political views spouted by the co-hosts of “The View.”
Disney CEO Bob Iger as well as other executives have asked for less political talk and more light-hearted conversations, according to The Daily Beast.
The panel has been critical of President Donald Trump since he entered politics.
“[ABC News president Almin] Karamehmedovic convened a meeting with ‘The View’s; executive producer Brian Teta and its hosts, and suggested the panel needed to broaden its conversations beyond its predominant focus on politics, two sources familiar with the meeting said,” the outlet reported. “Karamehmedovic highlighted episodes with celebrity guests that he said were highly rated, one source said, and encouraged them to lean into such coverage moving forward.”
The panel seems resistant to change.
“This is what our audience wants. Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?” one source familiar with the meeting recalled of the hosts telling their boss.
The women said the request was “silly” and the panel was going to “keep doing their thing.”
One host in particular is reportedly not on board, Ana Navarro. She joined on the panel with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
