Tiger Woods’ golf game could be thought of as one-in-a-million play.

For his son Charlie, make that one in 10,052 as the younger Wood tries for a spot to play the U.S. Open at an 18-hole local qualifier in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Thursday.

Charlie Woods was one of 10,052 entries and one of 84 playing in this qualifier at The Legacy Golf and Tennis Club, per CNN.

The five top finishers at this event will advance to the second and final qualifying stage – dubbed ‘Golf’s Longest Day.’ This is held at 36-hole events around the world in May and June.

If successful there, the chosen golfers will play the U.S. Open at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina on June 13.

To be eligible, the player must have a handicap not exceeding 0.4 or be a professional.

Charlie Woods, 15, tried to qualify for the Cognizant Classic in February, but came up short with a 16-over par 86.

“The youngest golfer attempting to make it to Pinehurst is 12-year-old Beck Patrick from Houston, Texas,” per CNN.

Tiger Woods, hampered by physical issues, withdrew from last year’s tournament at Los Angeles Country Club. He missed the chance to vie for his fourth U.S. Open title.
