Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley attacked President Joe Biden’s age in a new 2024 campaign ad.
On Monday, Haley, 51, didn’t mince her words in her assessment of Biden, 81.
“I’ll just say it. Biden’s too old,” she said in the short ad.
Haley also alleged, “Congress is the most exclusive nursing home in America.”
“Washington keeps failing because politicians of yesterday can’t lead us into tomorrow,” the former South Carolina governor said.
In her video, she also called for “term limits,” “mental competency tests,” a “real plan to defeat China,” and “restore our economy.”
“It’s time for a new generational conservative leader. It’s time to leave the chaos and drama of the past behind,” she wrote in the caption.
In an interview with Fox News in September, Haley spoke about Biden’s competency as president. This came after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) froze for a second time while speaking to the press during an event for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 30.
“It’s sad,” she shared. “No one should feel good about seeing that any more than we should feel good about seeing Dianne Feinstein, any more than we should feel good about a lot of what’s happening or seeing Joe Biden’s decline.”
She added, “What I will say is, right now, the Senate is the most privileged nursing home in the country.”
In April, Biden, who is America’s oldest sitting president, addressed concerns about his age during a meeting with the Irish parliament.
“I’m at the end of my career, not the beginning,” he stated.
Biden continued, “The only thing I bring to this career after my age — as you can see how old I am — but is a little bit of wisdom. I come to the job with more experience than any president in American history.”
“It doesn’t make me better or worse, but it gives me few excuses,” he joked.
