House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said that Democrats opposed “unleashing sexual predators” on American women even though the party enacted loose immigration policies that allowed a number of rapists and predators to enter the U.S. as migrants during the Biden administration.

Jeffries made the remark in response to a reporter’s question about Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s suggestion Thursday that Democrats erred in allowing biological men to play sports with women. This, after Senate Democrats voted to kill a bill that would keep men out of women’s sports. However, elected Democrats largely supported the Biden administration as its policies resulted in a porous border, even as American women and girls were savagely assaulted or killed by foreign nationals who entered the U.S. during those years.

“I want to ask about California Governor Gavin Newsom’s comments saying that Democrats were in the wrong for allowing transgender athletes to compete in female and girls’ sports. What’s your response to that after Democrats had opposed the (Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act)?” the reporter asked Jeffries. The bill passed the House in January despite “no” votes from all but two Democrats before Senate Democrats blocked it this month.

“I haven’t seen his comments. What Democrats opposed was unleashing sexual predators on girls throughout the United States of America,” Jeffries said. Some Democrats have criticized the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act as the “Child Predator Empowerment Act” because they believe that predators would seize on opportunities to abuse children by conducting “humiliating physical inspections of their private parts” if the bill becomes law.

Despite Jeffries’ contention that Democrats will not vote for something they think will result in “unleashing sexual predators” in the U.S., most Capitol Hill Democrats opposed strict border security bills and supported the Biden administration’s record on immigration, which was marked by the arrival and entry of millions of migrants from all over the world.

Unfortunately, some of the migrants allowed into the U.S. by Democrats and the Biden administration proceeded to commit heinous crimes against American women and girls upon entering the country.

Jose Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who entered the U.S. during the Biden years, was found guilty in November 2024 of malice murder, felony murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault with intent to rape, aggravated battery, obstructing or hindering a 9-1-1 call, tampering with evidence and being a peeping tom for killing 22-year old nursing student Laken Riley in Georgia. Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez entered the U.S. illegally on the Biden administration’s watch — despite having allegedly committed a previous murder in El Salvador — before he allegedly raped and murdered 37-year-old mother of five Rachel Morin in Oklahoma in 2023.

Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl who lived in the Houston area, was allegedly abducted, sexually assaulted and murdered by two illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. during the Biden years.

Moreover, federal immigration enforcement personnel have picked up a number of migrants who allegedly committed sexual crimes, including sex crimes targeting minors in localities across the country. In some cases, sex criminal illegal immigrants were allowed back on the streets of American communities because Democrat-controlled jurisdictions ignored detainer requests from federal immigration enforcement authorities.

Jeffries’ office did not respond to a request for comment.
