Former President Donald Trump, it turns out, will not be holding a major press conference to present “irrefutable proof” of election fraud in Georgia.
In a post on Truth Social Thursday night, Trump wrote, “Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged [and] Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable [and] Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud [and] Irregularities in formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment by a publicity [and] campaign finance seeking D.A., who sadly presides over a record breaking Murder [and] Violent Crime area, Atlanta.”
“Therefore, the News Conference is no longer necessary!” he added.

Trump has repeatedly claimed there was widespread fraud that altered the results of the 2020 election.
However, several recounts and legal challenges failed to substantiate his claims.
The former president was indicted by a grand jury in Georgia on Monday.
On Tuesday, Trump announced on Truth Social a “Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete.”
He added it would be presented in a “major press conference” and would be a “complete EXONERATION!” However, his lawyers were reportedly urging him not to hold the press conference due to concerns it could add to his legal troubles.
If there was widespread fraud, perhaps there would not be as much consternation about this press conference.
Yet, there was no widespread fraud in Georgia that altered the results of the 2020 election. And presenting a report with a bunch of baseless allegations could be seen as an attempt to taint the jury pool, and be used as evidence against him in trial or even lead to more charges.
Trump is now claiming he will present his claims in court, which probably will not happen because there is no evidence, and lying in court can have some serious repercussions.
This is what happened in 2020 when Trump screamed on social media about fraud, but in court, his lawyers stated they were not alleging there was fraud.
A key for those who still believe there was fraud in the election is what happens in the trial. If Trump does not present this report, ask yourself why.
If there really was fraud, this report should be presented in legal filings in court. But if it is not, or if the allegations of fraud are removed and it is just a list of incidents that appeared fishy, that should be a sign they know their claims are bogus.
