Update (07/15/24, 8:10 a.m. EST): As of Monday morning, the GoFundMe raised $3.67 million.
More than $2 million has been raised on GoFundMe to help the victims and families affected by the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump Saturday in Pennsylvania.
The fund was launched by Trump’s campaign, per Politico.
As of 6:40 p.m. EST Sunday, $2,959,402 was raised by more than 39,000 donations, according to the GoFundMe page. The goal was set at $1 million.
Trump authorized the account to raise money to support those injured or killed in the shooting at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump himself was grazed by a bullet. One person died and two were critically injured.
“All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation,” a blurb on the page said
A donor labeled as Kid Rock is a top donor with a $50,000 contribution.
