President Donald Trump issued a blunt warning on U.S. policy in the Middle East, signaling a firm stance on both the cease-fire involving Israel and Lebanon and ongoing negotiations tied to Iran.
According to the New York Post, in a sharply worded social media post published on Friday, Trump made clear that Washington is taking a leading role in enforcing the temporary halt in fighting.
“Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are PROHIBITED from doing so by the U.S.A. Enough is enough!!!” he wrote on Truth Social.
The statement underscored the administration’s position that the United States is effectively steering the terms of the 10-day cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon.
Trump’s remarks came as broader tensions in the region continue to shape diplomatic discussions, including efforts tied to Iran.
He also pushed back on reports suggesting a financial component could be part of a potential agreement with Iran.
Earlier reports had indicated the United States was considering releasing billions in frozen Iranian funds in exchange for Tehran giving up its enriched uranium stockpile.
Trump dismissed that idea outright.
“No money will exchange hands in any way, shape, or form,” he said.
The president further clarified that while the cease-fire centers on Israel and Lebanon, it does not directly hinge on broader negotiations involving other actors in the region.
“The deal is in no way subject to Lebanon, either, but the USA will, separately, work with Lebanon, and deal with the Hezboolah [sic] situation in an appropriate manner,” he wrote.
The comments reflect a dual-track approach, with the administration focusing on immediate de-escalation between Israel and Lebanon while addressing other regional concerns independently.
As discussions continue, the administration appears to be emphasizing both enforcement of the cease-fire and a refusal to include financial concessions in talks involving Iran.
