Author Mark Twain once said, “The report of my death was an exaggeration.”

Now, President Donald Trump can say the same after trending topics #trumpdead and #whereistrump flooded social media after the president had not been seen since Tuesday.

However, Trump, 79, was seen Saturday morning as he prepared to go golfing, Mediaite reported.

The speculation over Trump’s health came into question innocently enough.

Veteran journalist Laura Rozen regularly shares details of Trump’s schedule. She noted there was nothing on his schedule for the weekend.

“Trump has no public events scheduled all weekend. Don’t believe he was seen today either,” Rozen wrote on X. An official White House schedule for the weekend was attached.

The post alone has racked up over 28.3 million views as of Saturday morning.

Resistance influencer Majid Padellan (aka BrooklynDadDefiant) wrote, “Wait, WTF happened, I jump off Twitter for a few hours and now I’m seeing all these tweets that trump is dead?”

What did I miss?

Rozen allayed his concern, writing, “An observation that he has not been seen publicly since tuesday and has no public events on his public schedule thru the long weekend has set off a deluge. but that was not my intention.”

The bare schedule was not the only thing people were noticing as the president has been photographed of late with bruising on his hand and swollen ankles.

Then, there was the interview with Vice President JD Vance by USA Today.

“Yes, terrible tragedies happen,” Vance said. “But I feel very confident the president of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people,” Vance said.

“And if, God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days,” he added.

JD Vance has fueled speculation about Trump’s health and even rumors of his death in his latest interview.

He said, “Yes, things can always happen, yes, terrible tragedies happen,” referring to the possibility of taking the presidency if something happens to Trump. https://t.co/t12xGtq7Jn pic.twitter.com/b2Ned2d7Nh

On Friday, Trump gave an interview with “Daily Caller” White House correspondent Reagan Reese that has not been published yet.

Reese was surprised by the rumors.

“I wake up to see people freaking out that Trump’s sick or dead or something because he hasn’t been seen in a few days,” Reese said. I was with the president yesterday afternoon. I interviewed him for an hour. More details on our conversation to come today and through the weekend. We talked about everything. He was lively and chatty. It’s a great interview.”
