Former President Donald Trump is wishing people a happy Memorial Day — even those he deems “human scum.”
In a post on Truth Social Monday, Trump wrote, “Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country, [and] to the Radical Left, Trump Hating Federal Judge in New York that presided over, get this, TWO separate trials, that awarded a woman, who I never met before (a quick handshake at a celebrity event, 25 years ago, doesn’t count!), 91 MILLION DOLLARS for ‘DEFAMATION.'”
“She didn’t know when the so-called event took place – sometime in the 1990’s – never filed a police report, didn’t have to produce the ‘dress’ that she threatened me with (it showed negative!), [and] sung my praises in the first half of her CNN Interview with Alison Cooper, but changed her tune in the second half – Gee, I wonder why (UNDER APPEAL!)? The Rape charge was dropped by a jury!” he continued.
Last year, Trump was found liable of sexually abusing author E. Jean Carroll decades ago and ordered to pay her $5 million.
And while his team sought to argue a jury did not find him liable of rabe, The Washington Post notes the judge who presided over the trial “clarified that this is basically a legal distinction without a real-world difference. He says that what the jury found Trump did was in fact rape, as commonly understood.”
And in January, a jury ruled he has to pay Carroll another $83 million for defamation.
Trump is appealing both verdicts.
