For President Donald Trump, Hulk Hogan was not only a friend, but a MAGA supporter.

On Thursday, Trump mourned the professional wrestler, who died earlier that day at his home in Clearwater, Florida, USA Today reported.

“We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,” Trump wrote on social media. “He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive.”

“To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!” Trump added.

Trump and Hogan’s friendship goes back decades as Trump was once involved with the WWE.

Trump hosted the WWE’s Wrestlemania in Atlantic City for two years in the 1980s when Hogan was at the top of his game.

The president is in the WWE Hall of Fame as is Hogan.

As Trump turned the politics, Hogan was there to offer his support.

Hogan appeared on stage on the last day of the Republican National Convention last year.

“At the end of the day, with our leader up there, my hero, that gladiator, we’re going to bring America back together,” Hogan, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, said while pointing to Trump in the audience.

Hogan then brought the house down by ripping off his shirt and exposing a “Trump Vance Make America Great Again 2024” shirt underneath.

Hogan was inspired to get involved with Trump’s campaign after there was an assassination attempt on Trump last July in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“As an entertainer, I try to stay out of politics,” Hogan said shortly after the assassination attempt. “But after everything that’s happened to our country over the past four years, and everything that happened last weekend, I can no longer stay silent.”
