Former President Donald Trump is suggesting the indictments against him will help him win the 2024 election.

In a post on Truth Social, he wrote, “I NEED ONE MORE INDICTMENT TO ENSURE MY ELECTION!”

In a separate post, Trump shared he was departing for Washington, D.C., ahead of his arraignment.

“I am now going to Washington DC, to be arrested for having challenged a corrupt, rigged, [and] stolen election,” he wrote.

Trump added, “It is a great honor, because I am being arrested for you.”

Trump is scheduled to appear in court at 4 p.m. on Thursday to be arraigned on charges stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigations into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The former president has denied wrongdoing in the case and claimed the charges are politically motivated.

He also claimed the judge in the case is “unfair.”

Trump is also facing criminal charges for allegedly falsifying business records and allegedly mishandling classified documents.

Despite the charges, polls show he has maintained a lead over his 2024 Republican presidential primary opponents.

FiveThirtyEight’s polling aggregator shows Trump leading the field with 53.5%, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) coming in second place at 15.6%.

Meanwhile, New York Times/Siena poll released on Tuesday found Trump and President Joe Biden tied at 43%.
