It appears the first 2024 presidential debate may be on the books.
On Wednesday morning, President Joe Biden kicked off a fast moving series of events when his campaign released a series of proposals for the presidential debates. The Biden campaign proposed holding two debates this year, one in June and one in September, so voters can see them before they start casting their ballots.
The president then challenged former President Donald Trump to officially nail down a date for the debates.
Trump accepted the proposed time-frame for the debates, but no date was agreed to.
Biden then posted on X, “I’ve received and accepted an invitation from [CNN] for a debate on June 27th.”
“Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place,” he added.

It did not take long for Trump to respond to the proposal to attend a debate hosted by CNN.
He told Fox News’ Brooke Singman three words in response, saying, “I’ll be there.”
