President Donald Trump didn’t shed any tears when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) announced her resignation from Congress.

The president told Rachel Scott from ABC News Rachel Scott that Greene, who at one time was one of Trump’s biggest supporters, did not notify him of her plans prior to the announcement, per The Hill.

Greene took to social media to announce her final day in office. Greene released the lengthy statement on X telling supporters, “I will be resigning from office with my last day being January 5, 2026,” the Daily Callerreported.

“I think it’s great news for the country. It’s great,” Trump said one week after pulling his support from Greene. “I think she should be happy.”

Trump added that he wished Greene well.

In a lengthy statement, Greene said her fallout with Trump and said his previous comments were “hurtful. She also said she refused “to be a ‘battered wife’ hoping it all goes away and gets better.”

One of the main breaking points between the two involved the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files

“Loyalty should be a two way street,” Greene said.

Trump also wrote about Greene’s resignation on Truth Social.

“Marjorie “Traitor” Brown, because of PLUMMETING Poll Numbers, and not wanting to face a Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement (where she would have no chance of winning!), has decided to call it “quits,” Trump wrote. “Her relationship with the WORST Republican Congressman in decades, Tom Massie of Kentucky, also known as Rand Paul Jr. because he votes against the Republican Party (and really good legislation!), did not help her.”

“For some reason, primarily that I refused to return her never ending barrage of phone calls, Marjorie went BAD. Nevertheless, I will always appreciate  Marjorie, and thank her for her service to our Country!” he added.
