President Donald Trump says there is only one way that he can lose the presidential election in November.
And that is if it is “rigged.”
Speaking to supporters in Wisconsin on Monday, Trump said, “We have to win the election. We can’t play games. Go out and vote. Do those beautiful absentee ballots or just make sure your vote gets counted.”
He continued, “Make sure, because the only way we are going to lose this election is if the election is rigged. Remember that. It’s the only way we’re going to lose this election, so we have to be very careful.”

Trump has repeatedly raised concerns about what he calls universal mail-in voting — where states automatically send ballots to all registered voters — as IJR reported.
In July, Trump said, “It’s very bad what’s going on with mail-in ballots, as differentiated from absentee ballots where you have to go, and you go through a process because you can’t be there for some reason.”
He continued to claim that mail-in ballots will be “rigged.”
Democrats have alleged that Trump and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy are trying to sabotage the election by deliberately slowing down mail delivery to prevent votes from being cast, as IJR reported.
On Sunday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.) said, “I happen to think, as you know, Trump is a pathological liar. He lies all of the time. But, I gotta say, I gotta admit, the other day he was very honest.”
“He said, ‘Look, we want to kill mail-in balloting. We don’t want millions and millions of people to be able to cast their ballots through the mail. So we’ll destroy the Postal Service, we’ll defund it. They can’t vote,” he added.
The House Oversight Committee called on DeJoy to testify at an “urgent hearing” regarding operational changes he announced as part of a cost-saving measure. The U.S. Postal Service warned those changes could lead to delays in mail delivery.
Additionally, the House is expected to vote to block DeJoy’s changes on Saturday.
During an interview on Fox News on Monday morning, Trump denied that he was sabotaging the postal service to prevent votes from being counted, “Well no, I’m just making it good.”
Additionally, he tried to explain why his opposition to universal mail-in voting, “Now, what am I supposed to do? Let it continue to run badly? So if you fix it, they say, ‘Oh, he’s tampering with the election. No, we’re not tampering … Universal ballots where they drop millions of ballots into a community, into a state like New Jersey is doing now, it’s going to be a disaster.”
