Former President Donald Trump is now selling Bibles — swear to God.
Trump encouraged consumers, via a video on Truth Social Tuesday, to purchase the “God Bless the USA Bible,” The Associated Press reported.
The Bible’s name is a nod to country singer Lee Greenwood’s patriotic song, which has long been part of Trump’s rallies. Trump has also appeared at Greenwood’s events. The two are partners in this project.
“Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible,” Trump wrote.
The Bible is selling for $59.99. This does include shipping and handling fees.
However, the Bible contains more than a King James Version translation. There’s also copies of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as a handwritten chorus of Greenwood’s song.
“All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many,” Trump said in the video. “It’s my favorite book. It’s a lot of people’s favorite book.
“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country, and I truly believe that we need to bring them back,” he said. “It’s one of the biggest problems we have, that’s why our country’s going haywire, we’ve lost religion in our country.”
This is the latest business venture Trump has undertaken recently.
In February, Trump came out with Trump-branded sneakers. The “Never Surrender High-Tops” gold sneakers go for $399.
The AP reported that 45Footwear, also sells other Trump-branded footwear, cologne and perfume. He has also sold digital trading cards and NFTs, or nonfungible tokens, per the outlet.
The book is billed as “the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!”
It’s also touted as “easy-to-read” with “large print” and a “slim design” that “invites you to explore God’s Word anywhere, any time,” according to the book’s website.
The Bible’s website stated the book “is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign.”
“GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates,” it said .
Instead, “GodBlessTheUSABible.com uses Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness and image under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC, which license may be terminated or revoked according to its terms,” according to the website.
Trump has faced some financial difficulties as he faces four criminal indictments along with many civil charges.
He now owes $175 million, to be paid within 10 days, for a civil fraud judgment, per the AP, and he has posted a $92 million bond in the defamation cases brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of sexual assault.
It is not clear how much Trump was paid for the licensing deal or how much he will make from each book sale.
Trump is popular with white evangelical Christians, per the AP.
