Former President Donald Trump is unleashing a storm of fire and fury.

Is it about one of his prosecutions? Or about some slight by a political figure? No.

He is very upset about a poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal earlier this month that asked respondents about his age, and whether they think he is too old to run for the presidency. The survey found that 73% of Americans think President Joe Biden is too old to run again, while 47% said the same of Trump.

And having his age questioned did not sit well with the 45th president. In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, he wrote, “In a phony and probably rigged Wall Street Journal poll, coming out of nowhere to softened the mental incompetence blow that is so obvious with Crooked Joe Biden, they ask about my age and mentality. Where did that come from?”

“A few years ago I was the only one to agree to a mental acuity test, [and] ACED IT. Now that the Globalists at Fox [and] the WSJ have failed to push their 3rd tier candidate to success, they do this. Well, I hereby challenge Rupert Murdoch [and] Sons, Biden, WSJ heads, to acuity tests!” he said.

In a separate post, he wrote:

“I will name the place and the test, and it will be a tough one. Nobody will come even close to me! We can also throw some physical activity into it. I just won the Senior Club Championship at a big golf club, with many very good players. To do so you need strength, accuracy, touch and, above all, mental toughness.”

He concluded by claiming the Journal and Fox News are “damaged goods” and “MORONS!!!”

Trump published several more posts throughout the day attacking the Journal and suggesting it is suffering a decline in its influence.

The posts come after he has traded barbs with the Journal’s editorial board on the issue of tariffs during his presidency.

You can look at Trump’s level of energy during his presidency and campaigns and believe that at 77, he is in much better shape than Biden is physically or mentally.

We do not see Trump falling or tripping, or seeming to get lost on stage, or spewing sentences that you seem to need a decoder ring to understand — though he does sometimes say stuff that you’re just not quite sure what it means or where it came from.

Still, at 77, he is not too much younger than Biden. In fact, he will be the same age that Biden was when he entered the Oval Office in 2021. And over the past several years, elected officials in their 80s have given us plenty of health scares.

Just as Biden clearly does not like questions about his age popping up almost every week, Trump appears to be sensitive about the matter. But like it or not, it is a valid question.

Perhaps Trump has not lost a step since 2016 and is just as vibrant as he was then. However, screaming about it on Truth Social is not going to alleviate any concerns those 47% of Americans in the Journal poll have about his age.

One good way to demonstrate his vigor would be to get on the debate stage and let people see him spar with the competition.
