President Donald Trump revealed he has a musical side that could have led him away from a life of politics and real estate a towards playing the flute.
According to a report on Mediaite, Trump told Miranda Devine on the “Pod Force One” podcast that he was told he was “brilliant at music” after he took an aptitude test at age 11 or 12.
The test revealed his natural ability in music, much to the chagrin of his father, Fred Trump.
“They came up to my father, they said, ‘your son is brilliant at music. He can be an incredible musician.’ This is not what my father wanted to hear. You know, this was not the greatest thing ever,” Trump said.
The president continued he has an “ear” for music.
He then revealed the flute was his instrument of choice — at least for a moment.
“I played for very short periods of time, the flute. Can you believe that? I had flute lessons. You’re the first person that’s ever asked me that crazy question,” Trump said. “Can you believe it? I could have been a flutist. And I didn’t particularly like it. It wasn’t for me.”
When Devine suggested Trump could still play the woodwind instrument, Trump said it was not likely.
“I doubt it,” Trump said. “I don’t think so.”
