President Donald Trump dismissed CBS host Norah O’Donnell’s concerns over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, instead saying he didn’t think they were going “far enough” during his “60 Minutes” interview broadcast Sunday.

Fulfilling accampaign vow to conduct mass deportations, the Trump administration ramped up ICE raids across major U.S. cities, with hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants being sent back to their respective home countries. Citing concerns of excessive force, O’Donnell asked Trump if he believes the raids have “gone too far.”

“No, I think they haven’t gone far enough, because we’ve been held back by the judges, by the liberal judges that were put in by Biden and by Obama,” Trump said.

O’Donnell then pressed Trump, asking if he was “okay” with the tactics being used.

“Yeah, because you have to get the people out. You know, you have to look at the people. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people that were thrown out of their countries because they were criminals,” Trump responded.

Democrats have pushed back on Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants in the U.S., filing numerous lawsuits against the administration. Some began rallying behind illegal immigrant Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia in March 2025, dubbing him a “Maryland father,” despite Department of Justice (DOJ) records linking him to the international criminal gang MS-13.

Reports from corporate media on ICE raids have drawn criticism from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including Secretary Kristi Noem. Noem slammed NBC for initially running a headline claiming, “ICE held 5-year-old autistic girl in Massachusetts to pressure father to surrender, family says,” only to later issue a correction, according to a recent Fox News interview.

NBC obtained video from Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra showing ICE agents near a 5-year-old girl, the outlet reported. The child’s mother told Telemundo her husband, Edward Hip Mejia, called her while driving with the girl, saying he believed he was being followed.

When he arrived home, Mejia’s wife said he “managed to run back into the parking lot of my house,” leaving the child behind. Noem additionally noted the father was a “criminal who had endangered children in the past, and then he abandoned her in the vehicle and ran off to protect his own freedom and abandoned his daughter behind.”

After initially publishing the headline, NBC updated it to read, “Video shows ICE with 5-year-old girl while agents attempt to arrest her father.” A correction was added to the bottom of the post stating, “An earlier version of this article mischaracterized the activities of ICE agents in the video. The article has been updated.”

Noem and border czar Tom Homan have also criticized Democrats over their rhetoric, saying it contributed to a sharp rise in threats against ICE agents. DHS released a statement Thursday revealing that doxxing and death threats against agents and their families have surged 8,000%. The announcement comes after the DOJ arrested and charged ten suspects Wednesday for violence against law enforcement during anti-ICE protests in California.
