The Declaration of Independence has a new home.
The historic document now hangs in the Oval Office, according to a post made by President Donald Trump.
In one image, Trump peaks behind a curtain. The actual framed document is shown in the other photo.

According to a report in the Associated Press, it is not clear when it was installed. However a map including “Gulf of America” is seen next to it.
“The Nationals Archives delivered the Declaration of Independence to the White House at the President’s request. It is displayed in the Oval Office where it will be carefully protected and preserved,” according to a statement by press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Another post on X is of Trump showing Laura Ingraham the document.
“It’s never been up. It’s been in the vaults for many, many decades,” Trump told the host of “The Ingram Angle” on Fox News.

The original document is displayed in the Archives’ building and very faded. The photos of the document in the Oval Office show clear and legible words.
Trump’s post included the caption, “The Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office.”
This is not the only new addition to the Oval Office, per Axios.
Shortly after his inauguration, Trump added a portrait of portrait of former President Andrew Jackson, the seventh man to hold the position. There is also a Diet Coke button.
He also brought back a bust of Winston Churchill and flags of the military services. Those were removed under Biden.
These moves are nothing new as presidents add their own artwork and furniture.
