Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) finds it ironic that former President Donald Trump is selling Bibles.

“Happy Holy Week, Donald. Instead of selling Bibles, you should probably buy one,” Cheney wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. This is in response to a pitch Trump made on Truth Social.

“And read it, including Exodus 20:14,” Cheney said, referring to the verse that commands, “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

Trump announced the “God Bless USA” Bible, which is a project with country musician Lee Greenwood, The Hill reported.

Trump said he thinks it’s important for every American to have a copy of the Bible in their home.

“It’s my favorite book,” Trump said. “I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again.

“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country. And I truly believe that we need to bring them back and have to bring them back fast,” Trump said. “I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have. That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country.”

The King James Bible costs $59.99 and includes the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance.

“Trump has multiple times become embroiled in scandals related to alleged infidelity. In January, a jury ordered Trump to pay $83.3 million for defaming E. Jean Carroll by denying her claims of sexual assault when the longtime Elle columnist came forward in 2019,” per The Hill. “A previous jury had found Trump liable for sexually abusing her in the mid-1990s, when Trump was married to Marla Maples.”

Next month, Trump will go to court in his first criminal trial where he is alleged to have paid adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money, per The Hill.

The alleged payments were made “just before the 2016 election to stay quiet about an alleged affair with Trump,” The Hill reported.

There were many responses to Cheney’s post about Trump’s Bible.

Liz Cheney is last person who should be giving advice to anyone.

If anything, she should be getting her affairs in order in preparation for a life sentence in jail for the sham she perpetrated with the J6 committee.

Thankfully, Liz will at least never be in government again.

You should read up on what the Bible says about lying, Liz. https://t.co/yFpyoKxPMh

Christians should be appalled and ashamed of Trump. Grifting off of God’s Word is a new low. Trump is a conman NOT a Christian. #TrumpsReligion #TrumpBible #Grifter pic.twitter.com/ZnbDWRaRIA

This makes me wonder if the Trump Hotels include a Bible in the nightstand?

Going forward it sounds like it will be an additional fee.
