Alina Habba is entering a new chapter in both her personal and professional life after ending her marriage and relocating to Florida.
According to the New York Post, Habba, the former acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey and a longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump, has divorced her husband Gregg Reuben after nearly six years of marriage, according to friends who spoke about the split.
The 41-year-old attorney reportedly separated from Reuben sometime after stepping down from her role as New Jersey’s top federal prosecutor in early December.
Following the breakup, Habba moved to Palm Beach, Florida, not far from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
Friends described Habba as someone who has remained focused on her career and family despite the personal change.
“She’s a self-made lawyer who fought her way to the top, a devoted mom and someone who refuses to dim her personality to satisfy critics,” one friend said, “even when life throws personal challenges her way.”
The same friend characterized Habba as a “strong woman” who was “lucky enough to leave a man not worth sharing a life with.”
Another source close to Habba said she was the one who decided to end the marriage.
According to the source, the couple had been splitting time between New Jersey and Florida before ultimately reaching a breaking point.
“She trusts herself and she’s zero bulls–t,” the source said. “This sort of situation, although unfortunate for anyone, was the right thing for her and her family.”
Friends also described Habba as relentlessly driven in her professional life.
“Alina is constantly working and running, traveling — the woman doesn’t stop. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. She’s a machine,” the source added.
Neither source suggested that Habba is currently dating anyone following the divorce.
However, the second source said they hope she eventually finds someone who can match her energy and ambition.
“They were excited for [Habba] to find someone who can reciprocate” and “supplement” her industrious energy, the source said, suggesting that Reuben had largely remained out of the spotlight.
“Gregg was very much in the shadows. She’s super happy in Florida so far and looking forward to situating her kids there, similar to a lot of MAGA world, I think it’s a positive new chapter and I’m excited to see what’s she’s going to do,” the source added.
Reuben, a businessman who built wealth through ventures focused on modernizing parking management systems, was Habba’s second husband.
Habba was previously married to attorney Matthew Eyet. The couple divorced in 2019. She married Reuben the following year.
She shares two children with Eyet and was also a stepmother to Reuben’s son. Habba is currently serving as Senior Advisor to Attorney General Pam Bondi, a position that effectively places her in a role overseeing U.S. attorneys across the country.
