The Colonial School District in Pennsylvania is getting double the fun. Its kindergarten class is hosting 17 sets of twins who will graduate in 2036.

According to Fox News, the district’s community relations coordinator Jessica Lester expressed her shock, stating, “This is a very unique situation.”

“In recent history, no one can recall this many sets of twins entering kindergarten at the same time,” she went on.

Seven of the sets of twins attend Ridge Park Elementary School. Another six sets are enrolled at Whitemarsh Elementary School. Four more sets of twins go to Plymouth Elementary.

After a week of kindergarten orientation activities in September, this unique class has been termed, “twin-dergarten.”

Mother of one of the sets of twins, Morgan Weiser, who is also a twin, noted her children’s experience. She said, “They came from a private preschool setting, and it’s a small grade, so they were pretty much the only set of twins in our bubble.”

She also described the unique bond that her children have. “They really do have such a special friendship and connection.”

“Families have the option to decide if they want their twins to remain together or have different teachers so some of the kindergarten teachers have both siblings in their class — and some may have just one” she went on.

The Weiser twins are in separate classrooms. Weiser stated, “I don’t really know if they are aware of that connection they have outside of each other.”

“But I imagine that going to public kindergarten for the first time and just knowing that down the hall your twin sibling is there, and that there’s the potential to see them in the hallway or on the playground — it’s special,” she added.”

The children expressed joy at this phenomenon. Twins, Chloe and Audrey Ugas noted, “We always have each other.”

Twin brothers Tyler and Michael Notarianni said they have, ”a built-in best friend.”
