The University of Michigan (UM) is hosting a workshop to teach graduate students how to recognize “racism in everyday life.”

The event promises to teach about “racism, anti-racism, power, and oppression” and help prepare students to identify and address instances of bias and “microaggressions,” according to the university’s event webpage. UM is currently considering abandoning its entire multi-million dollar diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program.

“During this workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn terms associated with racism/anti-racism as well as power and oppression and their impact in the global and U.S. context,” the event description reads. “Additionally, participants will be able to recognize microaggressions and stereotyping that we see portrayed in media and be able to practice responding to real-life incidents of bias and racism that may occur in school, the workplace, or the community.”

The online event is scheduled for Jan. 10 and can be used to fulfill the “anti-racism requirement” for a graduate certificate in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) from the university.

UM hosts the largest and most expensive DEI program in the country which may soon be coming to a close. Reports circulated in recent months show that despite the millions of dollars thrown at the program, racial relations on campus have intensified and the school failed to increase diversity in its student body.

A national report found that DEI efforts also increase the likelihood that individuals will agree with statements from Hitler about race, including quotes referring to Jews as “parasites” when the word “Jew” was replaced with “Brahmin,” the highest social class in the Indian caste system.

DEI programs across the country are going up in flames, much to the disapproval of university bureaucrats who fight to keep the programs in place. States like Idaho, Texas and Florida have already passed statewide bans on the efforts due to its focus on race above merit and failure to deliver improved outcomes for students.

The University of Michigan did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
