A vehicle being pursued by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) caused a serious traffic accident in St. Paul, Minnesota, Wednesday, an independent journalist reported.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul area has seen previous violent incidents, including the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good during confrontations involving “rapid-response” to ICE operations. Video taken at the scene by “KimKatieUSA” showed the aftermath of what she described as a “6-car crash” in a Wednesday afternoon post on X.

“BREAKING: 6-car crash after anti-ICE mob smashed into ICE agents’ vehicles. Rabid Responders screaming about a possible fatality (still unconfirmed),” KimKatieUSA posted. “Obstructing ICE on roadways ends like this. Updates coming.”

The independent journalist also posted a video of emergency medical technicians moving a completely covered person on a gurney to a waiting ambulance from the scene.

Two witnesses who were laughing said that the vehicle being pursued by ICE was responsible for the collision in a 20-minute video posted to X by KimKatieUSA. ICE later detained the person they were pursuing, KimKatieUSA reported, including a photo of the apparent suspect.

Should ICE modify their pursuit policies following the accident in St. Paul?

“On February 11, ICE officers attempted to conduct a targeted vehicle stop of Alexander Romero-Avila, an illegal alien from Honduras RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration in 2022,” Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“In a dangerous attempt to resist arrest, this illegal alien tried to evade law enforcement and began driving recklessly and ran red lights, endangering public safety and law enforcement. Romero-Avila crashed his vehicle into multiple vehicles and a ICE law enforcement vehicle,” McLaughlin added. “Law enforcement immediately called 911 to get medical assistance. No members of the public or ICE officers were injured in the crash. The illegal alien was taken to Regents Hospital for evaluation of injuries.”

The St. Paul Police Department directed the DCNF to a statement released on Wednesday shortly after the incident.
