Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff raked in over $11 million in the first quarter of fundraising for 2025 as he gears up for a highly competitive reelection bid in Georgia’s 2026 Senate race.

Ossoff’s campaign, which first shared its fundraising totals with Politico on Monday, claimed his fundraising haul is the largest amount ever raised by an incumbent in the first quarter of an off-year. Ossoff’s average donation during the quarter was $32, with more than 155,000 first-time donors giving to his campaign.

“I’m grateful to the hundreds of thousands of record-shattering supporters who have already joined what will be the biggest and most relentless turnout effort in Georgia history,” the Democratic senator said in a statement, Politico reported.

Georgia’s 2026 Senate race is seen as one of the Republicans Party’s best opportunities to expand their majority during the upcoming midterms. While some Georgia Republicans have expressed interest in running in the state’s 2026 Senate race, they are waiting to see whether Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who is term-limited, makes his own bid.

Notably, campaigns and outside entities spent more than $515 million on Georgia’s 2022 Senate race — which was won by Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock — according to data from OpenSecrets. The Peach State’s 2022 Senate race was notably the most expensive of the election cycle, with more than $1.4 billion being funneled into the state by campaigns, super political action committees (PACs) and other outside entities in four races from 2020 to 2022, according to a New York Times analysis.

President Donald Trump notably swept all seven swing states in the November 2024 presidential election, including Georgia. Trump won 50.7% of the vote in Georgia to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 48.5%.

Democrats, their allied super political action committees (PACs) and other affiliated groups raised a whopping $2.9 billion for the 2024 presidential election cycle, compared to about $1.8 billion raised by Republicans.

Georgia’s Senate election will be held on Nov. 3, 2026.

Ossoff’s campaign did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
