The Biden campaign is brushing off former President Donald Trump’s call for a drug test ahead of the presidential debate.
During an interview on CNN, Biden campaign spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod was asked about Trump’s call for President Joe Biden to take a drug test.
“I mean, I don’t even really know what to say about that,” Elrod responded.
She noted Trump suggested former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was on drugs when he debated her in 2016.

In a post on Truth Social Monday, Trump wrote, “DRUG TEST FOR CROOKED JOE BIDEN??? I WOULD, ALSO, IMMEDIATELY AGREE TO ONE!!!”
In another post, the former president shared a story about Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), a former White House physician, vowing to demand Biden take a drug test before and after the debate.
“Ronny Jackson was a brilliant Doctor, Admiral and now, a GREAT Congressman. He happens to be totally right about what is written in this MUST READ Article but, unfortunately, nothing will be done about it!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Last week, The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman told CNN Trump’s campaign has realized they set the expectations too low for Biden ahead of the 2020 debates.
Now, the Trump team is leaning into the suggestion Biden will be “jacked up” on some kind of drug ahead of the debate, and will be lively.
“It’s been reported that right now Crooked Joe’s gone to a log cabin to study, prepare,” Trump said during a rally on Saturday. “He’s sleeping now because they want to get him good and strong. So, a little before debate time, he gets a shot in the ass. They want to strengthen him up.
He predicted, “He’ll come out all jacked up.”
