President Joe Biden will be masking up indoors while he is around people once again.
On Tuesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the president tested negative for COVID-19 and had no symptoms after First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for a second time.
She went on to share some of the steps Joe Biden will be taking:
“Since the president was with the first lady yesterday, he will be masking while indoors and around people — in alignment with CDC guidance.”
Jean-Pierre added, “As has been the practice in the past, the president will remove his mask when sufficiently distanced from others indoors and while outside as well.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people start wearing a mask once they are aware they were exposed to someone who tested positive for the virus for the next 10 days.
However, some conservatives took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to knock the idea of Biden masking up once again:
Your regular reminder that masks are garbage against COVID/Wuhan coronavirus and do not work. In fact, they cause harm with lung damage and cancerous materials. Not to mention the massive environmental pollution. https://t.co/6xKhLyXVcj

Masks do not work, but Biden is announcing he will be wearing a mask. This is true mental illness. The country has lunatics at the helm.

I hope it's at least three N95s with a cute cotton mask, or two!, over them. https://t.co/4NTDi9J7AQ

The first lady’s positive COVID test comes as hospitalizations related to the virus have risen 31% over the past two weeks, according to Axios.
There have been mixed results from studies about the effectiveness of masks in preventing the spread of COVID since the pandemic began.
