Just days after a gunman opened fire in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, President Joe Biden is planning to visit the area to grieve with the community.
But his quick response to travel to New York in the wake of the racist rampage has left some wondering why the president never bothered to visit Waukesha, Wisconsin, after a driver plowed his S.U.V. into a Christmas parade in Nov. 2021.
Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “How come the President is visiting Buffalo after a senseless tragedy there, but he couldn’t visit Waukesha after six were killed and 61 were injured in an attack on a Christmas parade there?”
“He’s visited many communities,” Jean-Pierre responded.
She continued, “He’s able to go tomorrow to Buffalo before the trip. That is something that was important for him to do.”
“But he has visited many other communities. Buffalo’s not the first community, sadly, that he has to go up [to] because of a violent attack. So, you know, that’s not the first one. So he’s been to many others,” she added.

Biden is scheduled to visit Buffalo on Tuesday after a gunman opened fire in a Tops Friendly Market.
The shooting left 10 people dead, and three injured, and law enforcement officials say it was racially motivated.
Eleven of the 13 people shot were Black.
Eighteen-year-old Payton Gendron, the suspect in the shooting, allegedly posted a 180-page document that contained racist language.
According to The Washington Post, Gendron “fixated on the idea that White people are being intentionally replaced.”
The president’s visit comes just days before he is set to travel to Asia.
Doocy’s comments refer to the Christmas parade attack when Darrell Brooks allegedly intentionally drove his S.U.V. into the parade, killing six people and injuring dozens more.
Brooks has been charged with five counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
However, Biden did not visit the city to meet with the victims of that attack. And Jean-Pierre’s response is simply ridiculous. There was no explanation given whatsoever.
Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said at the time that there were no plans for Biden to visit Waukesha and noted that “any president going to visit a community requires a lot of assets.”
The incident in Buffalo is a despicable act of evil, and that the victims were likely targeted just on the basis of their race makes it all the more horrific.
But the White House still has not sufficiently explained why the “assets” required for a presidential visit prevent Biden from visiting Waukesha but not Buffalo.
If they believe the incidents are on different levels, they should just say that instead of dodging the question.
