If former President Donald Trump were sent to jail as a result of the ongoing hush-money trial, not just any one will do. At least that’s according to the co-hosts on “The View.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg posed the question of what should happen to Trump if Judge Juan Merchan sends him to jail for violating the gag order or if he’s found guilty of falsifying business records.
“I think to prove a point, put him in the clink. Why not? Put him in the clink,” co-host Sunny Hostin said.
When Goldberg asked where Trump should be incarcerated, Hostin suggested Rikers Island, while Goldberg mentioned reopening Alcatraz in San Francisco.
“That’s number one is Rikers. But, I’m OK if he goes to Alcatraz and they reopen it. You know, what about Guantanamo Bay?” Goldberg said, as the audience gasped at the suggestion Trump be sent to a place known for torturing inmates.
Co-host Ana Navarro mused that given the close proximity of Cuba, where Guantanamo is located, and Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s home in Florida, “Melania can come and visit.”
Goldberg had the last word of the segment after Hostin read a legal note, stating Trump “pleaded not guilty to falsifying business records and has denied ever having an affair with Stormy Daniels.”
“And that’s what you do. You deny, deny, deny, lie lie lie, deny, deny, deny!” Goldberg said into the camera.
