Democratic presidential hopeful Marianne Williamson is not laughing at comments made by the White House’s spokeswoman about her campaign.
On Monday, a reporter asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if President Joe Biden is “annoyed” or “frustrated” by Williamson entering the race before he announced a re-election bid.
“I’m just not tracking that,” Jean-Pierre responded. “I mean, if I had … a little globe — crystal ball … If I can feel her aura. I just don’t have anything to share on that.”
Reporters could be heard bursting out in laughter as she spoke.
“Gosh, you guys are making me laugh now,” Jean-Pierre added.

Williamson did not find the comments humorous.
On Tuesday, she reacted in a video as she said, “I was so sad to see the commentary of the president’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, about me, about crystal balls, which I’ve never spoken or written about, and auras, which I’ve never spoken or written about. And just speaking so derisively and in such mocking terms.”
She also pointed out she has called Biden a “nice man” and does not want to take “personal potshots.”
“Apparently, the White House, at least as expressed by Karine, doesn’t share my commitment to the high ground,” she continued. “The hypocrisy here is something that all of us can see because the president said on his first day in office that anyone in his administration who spoke disrespectfully about anyone would be fired on the spot.”
Williamson added, “I’m not hoping that Karine Jean-Pierre loses her job over this, but I do hope that from now on, this low, derisive narrative about me … I hope this path is not pursued.”
They might think it’s a joke, but there’s nothing amusing about people going bankrupt from medical debt or children going to bed hungry. https://t.co/HPTVA01siV https://t.co/EmrTEkYkn1 pic.twitter.com/HK0TUPFT3s

On his first day in office, Biden told roughly 1,000 appointees, “I’m not joking when I say this: If you’re ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect or talk down to someone, I promise you, I will fire you on the spot — on the spot. No ifs, ands or buts.”
Flashback:
“Everybody is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity. That’s been missing in a big way the last four years,” he said.
