ACCC clears $40 billion Kimberly-Clark Kenvue deal after period-care brand sale
Australia’s competition regulator cleared Kimberly-Clark’s proposed $40 billion takeover of Kenvue on the condition that Carefree and Stayfree brand divestitures occur in Australia to preserve competition in the period-care market, a move aligned with similar conditions from New Zealand. The ACCC said the divestiture would maintain an independent competitor and prevent a substantial reduction in competition as the deal proceeds under Australia’s enhanced merger regime.
