Eiffel Tower briefly closes after workers strike over female staff instructions
The SO/ Paris hotel sits in a repurposed 1960s government building near the Marais and Eiffel Tower, illustrating a rising trend of converting historic structures into luxury hotels as travelers seek narrative weight alongside design. Paris also faced a rare shutdown of the Eiffel Tower after a staff strike over management directives to sidelined female workers for a visiting religious delegation, reflecting tensions between civil rights and public-space operations, while the city continues to attract global fascination—from an objectophilic marriage to the tower to the public exhibition of presidential-era DS cars during European Heritage Days.
