About Fred Davis
Fred Davis (1925–1993) was an American sociologist known for his work in medical sociology, symbolic interactionism, and the sociology of culture. Recognized as a member of the “Second Chicago School", Davis's studies into collective behavior, stigmatization, and cultural change have left an enduring mark on the field of sociology. He is also known for his research into the sociology of occupation, sociology of nostalgia, and sociology of cultural phenomena.
