About Gordon MacDonald
Gordon J. MacDonald is an American lawyer and jurist who has served as the 37th chief justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court since March 4, 2021. A Republican, he previously served as the 30th attorney general of New Hampshire from 2017 to 2021 and, before entering public office, was a congressional chief of staff, a federal appellate law clerk, and a commercial-litigation partner at Nixon Peabody LLP.
