Liechtenstein adopts absolute primogeniture in succession
Liechtenstein announced it is replacing male primogeniture with absolute primogeniture, ensuring the first-born child, regardless of gender, becomes heir and can become prince or princess, with all female descendants gaining equal rights in house matters. The change, approved by a two-thirds vote on National Day, will not immediately alter the current line of succession but signals future female heirs.
