Rich Paul confirms Peyton Watson sat out playoffs
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul said on his Game Over podcast that he advised Peyton Watson not to return for the Nuggets in the 2026 playoffs to protect his long-term contract value, a decision that contributed to Watson missing the postseason. Watson subsequently moved to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a multi-team sign-and-trade and signed a four-year, $88 million contract as he becomes a key piece for Cleveland after Denver’s playoff exit.
