About Lulu

Lulu is an opera that Alban Berg created from Frank Wedekind's Erdgeist and Die Büchse der Pandora. Berg used twelve-tone technique, faced rising cultural hostility, and died having almost finished the opera. Its two acts and finale were staged until Friedrich Cerha finished act 3 from Berg's short score and sketches in 1979. Theodor W. Adorno called it "one of those works that reveals the extent of its quality the longer and more deeply one immerses oneself in it."
