Kean, Bennett Clash in Key House Debate
Republican Rep. Tom Kean Jr. and Democratic challenger Rebecca Bennett clashed in their only debate in New Jersey’s closely contested 7th Congressional District race, with affordability, gas prices, tariffs and the Iran conflict among the key issues. Bennett criticized Kean’s support for President Trump’s policies and called for ending the war and curbing tariffs, while Kean defended his positions and promoted domestic energy production.

Rebecca Bennett is an American brewmaster. She has worked in various positions at Anheuser-Busch InBev, most recently serving as a senior quality manager in Baldwinsville, New York. She also held the assistant brewmaster post (2015–2018) at the Baldwinsville facility and previously was a product development specialist (2010–2015) and group manager (2005–2010) at the St. Louis, Missouri, facility. She graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 2005.
