Court Orders Hope Florida Report Expunged
Florida’s First District Court of Appeal ordered the Hope Florida grand jury’s report about a $10 million Medicaid-settlement payment expunged in full, ruling the panel exceeded its authority by condemning people it did not indict and that the confidential report was improperly disclosed. The court also concluded the payment was never received or spent by the state, so the cited statutes did not apply; no one was charged in the investigation.
