Texas Court Lowers Sandy Hook Damages for Jones
The Texas Third Court of Appeals cut Alex Jones and Free Speech Systems’ damages in the Sandy Hook defamation case from $50 million to $1.5 million, ruling that a post-verdict amendment allowed damages beyond the state cap. The decision does not affect the separate $1.4 billion Connecticut judgment, and represents Jones’ first notable victory in Texas after years of legal battles over his hoax claims about the 2012 shooting.
