Attorney General Pam Bondi got into shouting matches with Democratic Reps. Jerry Nadler of New York and Jamie Raskin of Maryland on Wednesday about the case relating to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Nadler criticized Bondi during a House Judiciary Committee hearing for not having prosecuted any of Epstein’s co-conspirators, prompting an attempt from Bondi to defend herself. Bondi accused Nadler and Raskin of engaging in “theatrics” after he demanded that she answer the question.

“I have just one question for you. How many of Epstein’s co-conspirators have you indicted? How many perpetrators are you even investigating? How many have you indicted,” Nadler asked as Bondi began answering.

“Excuse me, I’m gonna answer the question,” Bondi clapped back. “No, I’m gonna answer the question the way I want to answer the question. Your theatrics are ridiculous. Chairman Jordan, I’m not gonna get in the gutter with these people, but I’m gonna answer the question.”

While House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan attempted to restore order, Raskin demanded that Nadler’s time be restored. Bondi then called the Maryland congressman a “washed up, loser lawyer” after he accused the attorney general of filibustering.

“They don’t like the answer, Chairman, because it’s honest. So he asked a four-minute question, and I am going to answer,” Bondi said.

“Restore 45 seconds to Mr. Nadler please, Mr. Chairman,” Raskin said. “You can let her filibuster all day long, but not on our watch. Not on our time. No way. And I told you about that, Attorney General, before you started.”

“You don’t tell me anything you washed up, loser lawyer!” Bondi said. “You’re not even a lawyer.”

Nadler reclaimed himself and criticized Bondi for not releasing the files after President Donald Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law. He also accused her of working for Trump over the American people.

The DOJ has released tranches of files relating to Epstein to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The agency released more than 3 million files on Feb. 1, which revealed Epstein’s correspondence with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick as late as 2018, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon and Bill Gates, who Epstein alleged contracted a sexually transmitted disease from a Russian prostitute.

The files also show that Trump was one of the first individuals to call the police about Epstein’s inappropriate behavior while the sex trafficker was under investigation for sexual misconduct by the Palm Beach Police Department in 2006. Reports confirmed that Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago after an 18-year-old spa worker reported that Epstein tried to pressure her into sex.

Bondi has received scrutiny for her handling of the Epstein files since the DOJ concluded that Epstein did not possess a client list and that he committed suicide in his jail cell in 2019. Bondi had previously promised to reveal new bombshell information related to the Epstein case and alluded to having the client list on her desk in Feb. 2025, though the administration later said she referred to several documents related to a variety of cases.
