Brazilian dancer Vitória Bueno is not letting her disability stop her from following her dreams.
“My disability was something unexpected by everyone in my family. No one knew that I would not have both arms.” Bueno told “Good Morning America.”
She continued to share how her mother discovered it when she was born and that doctors diagnosed it as “a congential malformation disability.”
“So to this day, no doctor can explain why I don’t have both arms,” Bueno said.
Bueno spoke about her passion for dancing saying, “I’ve always been a girl who, since I was little, liked to dance. So everywhere I went, I danced.”
“And at the age of five I was doing physical therapy, I was doing physical therapy at school and my physical therapist realized my passion for dancing,” Bueno said.
Bueno went on to explain how her physical therapist called her mother after watching a video of Jessica Cox, an American, who also did not have both of her arms and took dance classes when she was a child.
“[The physical therapist] explained to my mother about ‘Tia Andrea’s Academy’ where I dance today and that there would be a possibility of me starting to dance and told my mother to take me to an experimental class,” she said.
Bueno has been dancing ever since which now includes performing for her many followers on social media.
God created each one of us for His glory. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s masterpiece.”
According to “Good Morning America,” Bueno says her hope is to continue dancing to “spread happiness.”
“I always like to leave a message to the people who have a dream, not just in dance but in any other area, for them to fight for their dreams. Dedicate yourself and chase your dreams with all your strength,” she concluded.
