Former Vice President Kamala Harris relaunched her social media accounts Thursday morning, over a year after voters rejected her at the ballot box.

Harris announced in a video posted to several social media platforms early Thursday that “Kamala HQ” — the former social media hub for her 2024 presidential campaign — would rebrand as “Headquarters,” where followers will be able to “get basically the latest of what’s going on.” In an X post, the rebranded account called itself a “new Gen-Z led progressive content hub.”

“So, Kamala HQ is turning into Headquarters and it’s where you can go online to get basically the latest of what’s going on, and also to meet and revisit with some of our great, courageous leaders, be they elected leaders, community leaders, civic leaders, faith leaders, young leaders,” the failed 2024 Democratic presidential nominee said in the video.

Harris will serve as “chair emerita,” while former aide Rob Flaherty and former KamalaHQ managers Parker Butler and Lauren Kapp “will advise the effort,” Politico’s Playbook reported.

Should Kamala Harris' rebranded account focus on Gen Z content?

The account posted a teaser video to X on Wednesday night, depicting a log-in screen with messages in the “password” field such as “waytooonline” and “project2025wasreal.” The video apparently referenced “chronically online,” a colloquial term for individuals closely engaged with Internet culture, and “Project 2025,” a policy agenda designed by the Heritage Foundation in 2022 to support the next Republican president — which Democrats heavily railed against during the 2024 election cycle.

Before the Harris-linked account’s late Wednesday post, the last time it posted on X was Nov. 5, 2024, the day Harris and her running mate Tim Walz lost that year’s election to President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

The “Trump War Room” account on X reposted the teaser video Wednesday night, writing, “LET’S GOOOO,” and in a later post, “Oh, you guys want some more pain?”

The updated account includes a link to a Substack called “HQ.” In an apparent effort to appeal to Gen Z, the account also includes “67” in the X handle, a reference to a meme popular among the generation.
