Mark Zuckerberg made some waves Thursday when he posted a video of himself wakesurfing on Instagram.
But the Meta founder and CEO wasn’t in shorts – that just wouldn’t do. Instead, he donned a full tuxedo as he held the American flag and drank a beer while Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” played in the background.
“Happy birthday, America!” the caption read.

The viral video sparked an array of reactions.
“Because nothing screams ‘America’ more than a leftist CEO billionaire celebrating Independence Day while his platform undermines the Republic that earned him his billions,” Craig Chamberlin remarked.
“You can’t go from supremely uncool to cool by just trying hard. Zuck will always be uncool. I refuse to entertain the possibility he will ever do anything cool,” Dave Portnoy wrote.
The account Dudes Posting their W’s wrote, “Cringe or based?”
“Zuckerberg holding an American Flag, drinking a beer, while wakeboarding,” they added.
“I hate to admit it but Mark Zuckerberg has swagger,” X user Greg wrote.
“Congrats to the PR agency and image consulting firm that pulled a 180 to change Mark Zuckerberg’s the public image from this in 2018, to this in 2024,” another X user wrote.
Zuckerberg share a similar video three years ago, People reported.
In that video, he was wakeboarding while he held a U.S. flag. John Denver’s 1971 hit “Take Me Home, Country Roads” played in the background.
