President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump made an appearance at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, after attending a large rally where thousands cheered on the U.S. president.

The president and first lady toured the Taj Mahal grounds and inside of the building, as well as posed for a picture in front of it. They spent roughly an hour at the location.

They were also accompanied by the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The U.S. president wrote in the visitor’s book, “The Taj Mahal inspires awe! A timeless testament to the rich and diverse beauty of Indian culture! Thank you India.” He also told reporters the Taj Mahal is “truly incredible.”

According to a White House pool report, the president and first lady were given a framed picture of themselves at the Taj Mahal.

Donald Trump also “joked at the Taj Mahal that one of the photographers would win a Pulitzer Prize for photos of the Trumps there,” according to a Bloomberg White House correspondent.

During their visit, they also went to Mahatma Gandhi’s home in Gujarat, where Donald Trump “sat on the floor and tried spinning cotton on a charkha, a hand-cranked wheel that Gandhi promoted as a tool of self-reliance,” as The Washington Post reports.

They also attended an event where over 100,000 Indians cheered on the U.S. president, and “Namaste Trump” hats were worn, as IJR reported.

“The First Lady and I have just traveled 8,000 miles around the globe to deliver a message to every citizen across this nation: America loves India — America respects India — and Americans will always be true and loyal friends to the Indian people.” @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/FXJ4JwAESQ
