President Donald Trump is looking forward to getting out of the White House for a little while as he has scheduled travel plans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump has plans to head to Arizona and hopes in the near future he can make it to Ohio.

“I think I’m going to Arizona next week,” Trump said.

He added, “And we look forward to that and I’m going to, I hope, Ohio very soon. And we’re going to start to move around and hopefully in the not too distant future we’ll have some massive rallies and people will be sitting next to each other.”

Watch his comments below (starting at 1:04:20):

His comments come shortly after he unveiled new guidelines to reopening the nation, including guidelines for travel, as IJR previously reported.

The guidelines allow for states to open in phases.

The first phase recommends Americans avoid non-essential travel. In the second phase, non-essential travel can resume.

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump were recently criticized for traveling to visit Trump National Golf Course for Passover this month, as IJR previously reported.

Trump placed travel restrictions on China on January 31, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that she is convinced it did little in stopping the spread of the coronavirus.

“Actually, tens of thousands of people were still allowed in from China, so it wasn’t as it is described … as this great moment,” Pelosi said.

Trump has taken steps to prevent others from coming into the United States.

He recently issued an order to temporarily suspend the permanent residence of some immigrants.

“This will ensure that unemployed Americans of all backgrounds will be first in line for jobs as our economy reopens,” Trump said.

He explained it will also preserve health care resources for Americans.

Trump said on Wednesday that he believes the coronavirus will “go away” whether or not there is a vaccine.

As of Thursday morning, there are more than 1,042,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and over 61,000 deaths from the virus in the U.S.
