Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) has not been afraid to speak up when he feels President Donald Trump’s administration has not done enough to help states in their battle against the coronavirus.

But in an interview on “The Daily Show” on Wednesday night, Hogan had some positive comments about the administration, “I think they’re making some strides.”

“They have been doing a good job of communicating with the governors and trying to address our needs,” he added.

Additionally, he said that when he does speak out against the administration, “I’m not one of those folks that’s just out criticizing the president for no reason. I’m just pushing to try to get the help that we need in our states.”

He also spoke about his decision to reach out to South Korea to get 500,000 coronavirus tests from that country.

“We had no choice. We were put in a position where governors were scraping and clawing and trying to get tests all over the country from various providers,” Hogan said.

He continued, “We just made a personal appeal, we worked on it for about three weeks … you know landing a half a million tests for our state was a huge thing.”

Hogan has repeatedly spoken up when he feels Trump has made statements that are wrong or “unhelpful,” as IJR reported.
