A weekend concert in Florida took an unexpected turn when a patriotic chant from the crowd sparked a tense exchange between a veteran rock band and some of its fans.

According to Fox News, the incident unfolded during a performance by The Black Crowes in Tampa, where audience members reportedly began chanting “U.S.A.” after a screen displayed the band’s mascot dressed as Uncle Sam.

What started as a crowd celebration quickly turned contentious.

TMZ reported that frontman Chris Robinson responded to the chant with a sarcastic remark, telling concertgoers, “Thanks for the geography lesson.”

He then added, “I don’t know what you have to be so proud of right now.”

The comments were met with an immediate reaction from the audience.

Videos circulating online appear to show portions of the crowd booing Robinson’s remarks. Some concertgoers reportedly chose to leave the venue before the performance concluded.

The tension escalated further when Robinson addressed the negative reaction from the audience.

In footage shared online, he can be heard saying, “Some of us have real faith. For those of you f***ing booing us, some of us are not afraid. And we most assuredly are not f***ing ignorant.”

The exchange quickly spread across social media, where fans and critics debated whether politics should have entered the concert.

Some longtime fans defended the singer, arguing that outspoken and provocative behavior has long been part of rock music culture.

“It’s rock and roll. You’re supposed to be offended; that’s the attitude that makes it dangerous,” one supporter wrote. “It’s not ‘go along with the flow like everyone else’ music. It’s rebellious & Chris Robinson isn’t well known for his warm personality & happy vibes? He’s always been like this.”

The incident has since generated widespread discussion online, with reactions continuing to pour in from both supporters and critics of the band.
