Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is weighing in on virtual campaigning and whether or not it could impact his upcoming bid on the White House.

During an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Biden was asked when he plans to get out on the campaign trail.

On multiple occasions, President Donald Trump has suggested that Biden is “hiding in his basement.” In response to the speculation, the Democratic frontrunner has insisted that his campaign is “following the guidelines of the experts.”

He said that his campaign is on the trail now and that there is “no evidence” to suggest his presidential campaign has been hindered as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

“Everybody says, you know, ‘Biden is hiding.’ Well let me tell you something: We’re doing very well. We’re following the guidelines of the medical profession. We’re following the guidelines of the experts,” Biden told George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday.

Biden went on to explain the logic behind all of the speculation about his campaign.

“The idea that somehow we are being hurt by my keeping to the rules and following the instructions that have been put forward by the docs is absolutely bizarre. I reject the premise that somehow this is hurting us. There’s no evidence of that,” Biden said.

He continued, “I’m following the rules. Following the rules. The president should follow the rules instead of showing up to places without masks and the whole thing.”

Biden’s remarks follow reports of his steady lead in the polls and the release of his latest fundraising report. In the month of April, the Biden campaign raised more than $60.5 million with the Democratic National Committee.

The Biden campaign also saw record-breaking fundraising numbers in March with a total of $79.4 million, outraising Trump and the Republican National Committee.
