President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign announced that rally attendees will be required to sign a waiver while registering to attend.

On the Trump re-election campaign website, the event registration form for the upcoming rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, includes a disclaimer regarding the coronavirus.

After filling out the registration form, attendees must agree to the terms which read: “By clicking register below, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.”

Attendees are also required to acknowledge that they are aware that attending the rally means they are “voluntarily” risking the possibility of being exposed to the coronavirus.

The disclaimer continues, “By attending the Rally, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.; BOK Center; ASM Global; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.”

While the disclaimer outlines limited liability, The Washington Examiner noted that it does not mention details about safety measures — such as social distancing, temperature checks, and mask requirements — that may be incorporated to help decrease the possibility of spreading the virus.

The upcoming rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will be Trump’s first since March 2. His rallies over the last few months were canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Now, he is eager to resume campaigning for re-election.

The latest details about the Trump campaign’s disclaimer come amid opposition over the timing and location of the rally.

Biden’s campaign fired back with criticism over the decision to hold the rally in Tulsa on June 19 — the anniversary of former President Abraham Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation, which abolished slavery, was read, as previously reported on IJR.

The city is also the home of the Tulsa Massacre, a racially-charged massacre that led to hundreds of blacks being killed. Prominent black communities, both residential and commercial, were also destroyed in entirety.

However, Trump insists the date of the rally was not chosen on purpose. He also said that he sees the upcoming rally as a “celebration.”
